A health checkup camp was organized at Govt. High School, Colony No. 4, Chandigarh on 26 February 2012 under the community health initiative by NAAD Foundation, an NGO and Apollo Clinic, Chandigarh. The health camp was organized with a view to find out the health problems of the residents of Colony No. 4 and to prescribe and counsel them about the line of treatment. 110 residents of colony No. 4 got themselves checked at the camp. Apart from BP and Clinical examination various blood tests and ECG was conducted. Two general physicians and one urologist attended to the citizens who had come to participate in the camp. A follow up camp will also soon be organized in this regard through which improvements in the health of the citizens will be assessed. It has also been decided to provide medicines to the ailing persons, free of cost. Any follow up investigation will also be done, free of cost, for the residents. Deputy Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Satish Kumar Kainth was the Guest of Honor on the occasion and also played an active part in organizing this camp.
The camp was the brain child of Mrs Nishi Singh, Managing Trustee, NAAD Foundation. She interacted with the ladies, children and citizens who had come to get themselves checked to find out the problems of their health. Head of Apollo Clinic, Chandigarh, Mr. R.K. Kapoor was also present on the occasion. Apollo Clinic, Chandigarh provided logistical support in organizing the camp.
